James grew up on the ICI Dairy Farms in Somerset and has had practical farming experience on dairy, arable, intensive and extensive farms in the UK. He is a Wye College Agricultural Business Management graduate, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991. Following 10 years experience with a national agricultural accountancy firm, he founded The Hutchinson Partnership in 1998 with his wife Julianne.
James is committed to helping all generations of farming families to protect and grow their business interests, to use their accounts for decision making and carry out effective strategic planning.
He was one of the founders of Kingshay, national independent dairy specialists. He is also a partner in the family farming business with his brothers.
Simon has accumulated considerable experience which he can put to good use whilst advising clients. This began on the family dairy farm, followed by an agricultural degree at Nottingham, and then 12 years with a large firm in their specialist agricultural team where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Since joining The Hutchinson Partnership in 2001 Simon has built up a wide range of clients which includes estates, farming family businesses, agribusinesses and charities. Simon also spends a significant amount of his time giving advice to his clients on estate planning, business restructuring and planning for diversification.
Beyond the office Simon gives some of his time to act as trustee to a number of charities and enjoys walking and gardening.
Julianne has an Honours degree in Business Studies and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 with a national firm in Cambridge. She moved to Herefordshire with James to help set up the business whilst bringing up a young family.
Julianne continues to be involved with the business part time, and is responsible for financial managment, training and quality standards within the firm.
Gavin grew up at ADAS Rosemaund where his father was farm manager. He has worked for two firms in Hereford, one of which was a national firm. During his career, he qualified as a Certified Accountant and has gained valuable experience on a wide range of clients including farms and agricultural related businesses.
Gavin joined The Hutchinson Partnership in 2005 and has worked on many of our clients. In particular he brings knowledge and experience to the team in dealing with corporate businesses and undertaking audits. His background in farming gives him a good understanding of clients.
He is a keen sportsman who has played football and cricket for various teams throughout the county of Herefordshire.
Claire joined The Hutchinson Partnership in December 2013. She previously worked for an accountancy practice in Shrewsbury where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2011 and gained a wide range of experience during her time there.
Claire has a love of motorsport and spends her weekends participating in autograss all over the country together with her family.
James joined The Hutchinson Partnership in October 2014. He trained with a national accountancy practice, where he qualified as a Certified Accountant in 2002, and gained experience in audit, charities and dealing with accounts for a range of farming businesses. James has also held financial roles at a Housing Association and with an electronics company.
James grew up on his family's small holding and gained agricultural experience working at ADAS Rosemaund.
Outside of work James is a keen sportsman and plays and coaches cricket and enjoys cycling. He also keeps and breeds chickens.
Adam grew up in Lancashire where he obtained an honours degree in Accounting, Auditing and Finance, whilst also working in London on placements. After university he moved to London to work in audit for one of the big four firms, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2016.
Adam joined the Hutchinson Partnership in April 2017 shortly after moving to Hereford. Adam brings his recent experience in audit to the team along with a drive to provide a real value added service to our clients.
Joe joined The Hutchinson Partnership in July 2014 after completing his A Levels at Lady Hawkins Sixth Form College. He has started training as a Chartered Accountant, his ambition is to become a fully qualified accountant.
Joe enjoys living in a rural location and is a keen pool player competing in local leagues.
Kate first found her love for numbers whilst bookkeeping for the family business. After obtaining an honours degree in Accounting and Finance, Kate qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2012 at a local practice, where she gained experience of Companies, Charities and Audit.
Since then, she has spent 6 years working in finance in the wine and spirits trade. Kate joined The Hutchinson Partnership in January 2019 and brings with her a diverse accounting knowledge.
Outside of work she enjoys swimming, baking and walking with her family.
Liam joined the Hutchinson Partnership in July 2017 after completing his Biology, Business studies and Sociology A levels at Hereford 6th Form College. He is currently enrolled in the AAT apprenticeship program in Worcester. Liam is working towards becoming a qualified Level 4 accounts technician and aims to become a fully qualified accountant.
Outside of the office Liam enjoys playing an array of sports including football, golf and darts. He is currently playing for Presteigne St. Andrews Football Club in the senior team.
